Last year in the state of Utah, 36 people lost their lives due to Domestic Violence... 36 lives, 36 funerals, 36 is far too many.
The even more troubling part of this information is the devastating trend seems to only rise higher every single year in this state we call home. DV has been noted as the "Biggest Contributor to Homicide Deaths in the State" during 2017 as well as previous years. Now ask yourself, is this acceptable in any sense? The answer is NO. Now, how can you help? You're just one person right? Yes, you may just be one person, but by standing with us, standing with all the other organizations around the state working tirelessly to end the troubling epidemic of DV in our state and our nation you are one among millions, and together we CAN make a difference. How? Well, keep a list of resources handy if you meet someone you feel may be suffering from abuse from their partner, speak up and give them resources. Be a safe place, a shoulder, someone to lean on for anyone you know who may be a victim. You could be saving their lives.
